A good home remedy for flies is to put a mixture of essential oils in the rooms of the house. In addition, a mixture of orange and lemon can also keep flies away from some locations while providing a pleasant smell in the room.
However, in cases where it is difficult to keep flies away from certain locations, a good choice is to put strips of brightly colored yellow or orange paper with molasses hanging in the room to catch the flies.

Method of preparation
Put the ingredients in a bowl and leave in the room or entrance of the house to prevent the entry of flies. The mixture should be changed every 3 days to avoid the appearance of bad smell caused by the decomposition of the bark.
2. Essential Oils to Kill Flies
Some essential oils, such as eucalyptus and lavender, have excellent natural repellent properties that help remove insects and are often used to kill flies at home.
Ingredients
- 2 drops of cedar essential oil
- 2 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
- 2 drops of lavender essential oil
- 1 glass of boiling water
Method of preparation
Add the ingredients and leave in a small container in a room of the house. For best results should be placed a container of this in each room of the house, but far from the reach of the children, to avoid that they drink the mixture.
In addition to these homemade solutions, it is important to keep the rubbish bins well capped and the house clean and airy to avoid the accumulation of flies, as they have a greater preference for hot spots and dirt where they can deposit their eggs.
