What is it for
Primosiston is indicated for the treatment of uterine bleeding, and to delay or anticipate the day of menstruation, since it is able to prevent ovulation and hormone production by modifying the tissue that lines the uterus, the endometrium, interrupting bleeding due to its desquamation.
How to take
The use of Primosiston is indicated in the following ways:
- To stop bleeding caused by dysfunctional uterine bleeding:
The recommended dose is 1 tablet 3 times a day for 10 days, which stops uterine bleeding in 1 to 4 days when it is not associated with any lesion of the uterus.
Although variable, bleeding usually subsides as early as the first days of treatment, which may extend for 5-7 days until completely stopped. - To anticipate menstruation 2 or 3 days:

- To delay menstruation 2 to 3 days:
Take 1 tablet 3 times a day for 10 to 14 days, taking the 1st tablet 3 days before the expected date of the next menstruation. Possible side effects
Primosiston is usually well tolerated but at times unpleasant symptoms such as headache, nausea, feeling of tightness of the breast and stomach pain can occur. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and vaginal bleeding may occur when you take more tablets than you should.
This drug may interfere with the action of oral antidiabetics and therefore is not recommended for diabetic women.
Who should not use
Primosiston should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergy to the components of the form in case of breast cancer.
