Cure of paraplegia can be achieved when it was caused by an infectious disease or when there was only compression of the spinal cord because when the paraplegia is caused by a complete injury of the spinal cord, the nerve impulse does not pass correctly and the individual should remain paraplegic for all life.
However, there is scientific research being done on laboratory animals that have achieved good results, but the technique still needs to be improved to have it tested on humans.
In the meantime, what can be done to improve the paraplegic individual's quality of life is rehabilitation through physical therapy sessions that serve to preserve motor ability and prevent deformities that may arise such as pressure ulcers, deformed feet and knees.
