Folicrol, Enfol, Folacin, Acfol or Endofolin are trade names of folic acid, which can be found in tablets, solution or drops.
Folic acid, which is vitamin B9, is an antianemic and a key nutrient during the preconception period, to prevent baby malformation such as spina bifida, myelomeningocele, anencephaly or any problem related to the formation of the baby's nervous system.

Folic Acid Indications
Megaloblastic anemia, macrocytic anemia, pre-gestational period, lactation, periods of rapid growth, people taking medicines that cause folic acid deficiency.
Folic Acid Side Effects
It can cause constipation, allergy symptoms and difficulty breathing.
Contraindications of folic acid
Normocytic anemia, aplastic anemia, pernicious anemia.
Mode of use of folic acid
- Adults and elderly : folic acid deficiency - 0.25 to 1mg / day; Megaloblastic anemia or prevention before pregnancy - 5 mg / day
- Children : preterm and infants - 0.25 to 0.5 ml / day; 2 to 4 years - 0.5 to 1 mL / day; over 4 years- 1 to 2 mL / day.
Folic acid can be found in 2 or 5 mg tablets in 2 mg / 5 ml solution or in drops of 0.2 mg / ml.
