How to use Aluminum Hydroxide
The use of aluminum hydroxide is initiated by the doctor, who generally recommends:
- Pediatric Use: Children between the ages of 4 and 7 should take 1 teaspoon, 1 to 2 times a day, 1 hour after meals and children 7 to 12 years of age, 1 teaspoon should be taken at 2 times day, 1 hour after meals;
- Adult use: from 12 years old you can take 1 or 2 teaspoons, 5 to 10ml, 1 to 3 hours after meals and before bedtime.
Before taking the medicine you should shake it every time you take it and should be swallowed for a maximum of 7 days in a row.
In cases of concomitant consumption of iron (Fe) or folic acid supplements, the antacid should be taken within 2 hours, as well as the intake of citrus fruit juices at intervals of 3 hours.
