Aliprazide is the active ingredient in the medicine known as Superan. This antiemetic promotes rapid emptying of the stomach by stimulation of gastric movements and increase of esophageal sphincter strength, preventing the sensation of nausea.
This medicine, which does not contain a generic, is presented in drops which must be diluted in a glass of water. It is not advised to use it during pregnancy and lactation due to lack of conclusive studies.
Indications
Nausea and vomiting in cancer treatments.
Side effects
Stop menstruation, breast augmentation, diarrhea, headache, facial spasm, involuntary movement or torticollis, drop in blood pressure, drowsiness, dizziness.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, pheochromocytoma (tumors), difficulty moving with the use of neuroleptic medication.
How to use
Oral use
Adults: 50 to 200 mg / day divided into 3 or 4 doses (dilute drops in water).
Children: 5 mg / kg / day divided into 3 doses (dilute drops in water).
Note:
The treatment should not exceed 7 days and during the treatment is contraindicated the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
