Post concussion syndrome may occur a few days after a concussion. It manifests itself through the prolongation of the symptoms of the disease, being:
- Headache;
- Irritability;
- Anxiety;
- Memory loss and cognition;
- Lack of concentration and attention;
- Fatigue;
- Personality changes;
- Insomnia;
- Vertigo;
- Ringing in the ear;
- Loss of hearing;
- Visual changes;
- Sensitivity to light and noise;
- Loss of taste in the mouth, smell and libido.
These changes may remain from three months to one year after the head injury, in which case the patient should be accompanied by a neurologist.
