Mucosolvan is a medicine that has the active ingredient Ambroxol hydrochloride, a substance that is able to make the respiratory secretions more liquid, making it easier to eliminate them with cough. In addition, it also improves the opening of the bronchi, decreasing the symptoms of shortness of breath, and has a slight anesthetic effect, decreasing throat irritation.
This medicine can be bought in conventional pharmacies without a prescription, in the form of syrup, drops or capsules, and the syrup and drops can be used in the baby older than 2 years of age. How to take
The form of use of Mucosolvam varies according to the form of presentation:
1. Mucosolvan adult syrup
- One half-cup measure, about 5 ml, 3 times a day should be taken.
2. Mucosolvan pediatric syrup
- Children between 2 and 5 years old should take 1/4 cup measured, about 2.5 ml, 3 times a day.
- Children between 5 and 10 years of age should drink half a cup, about 5 ml, 3 times a day.
3. Mucosolvan drops
- Children between 2 and 5 years old should take 25 drops, about 1 ml, 3 times a day.
- Children between the ages of 5 and 10 : should take 50 drops, about 2 ml, 3 times a day.
