1. Barbatimão ointment
The barbatimão ointment can be used to be used in cuts and scrapes on the skin because it has healing effect on the skin and mucous membranes, and also helps to deflate the region relieving pain and discomfort.
Ingredients:
- 12g barbatimão powder (about 1 tbsp)
- 250 ml coconut oil
Preparation:
Put the barbatimão powder in an earthenware pot or ceramic and add the coconut oil and bring to low heat for 1 or 2 minutes to even the mixture. Then pour and store in a glass container that can be kept tightly closed.

- 1 large leaf of slug
- 4 tablespoons of lard
- 1 tablespoon of beeswax
Preparation:
Open the leaf slug and remove its pulp, which should be approximately 4 tablespoons. Then place all the ingredients in a pyrex and microwave for 1 minute and stir. If necessary, add another 1 minute or until completely liquid and well mixed. Place the liquid in small containers with its own lid and keep it in a clean, dry place.
3. Arnica ointment
Arnica ointment is great for applying to sore skin due to bruises, bumps or purple marks because it relieves muscle pain very efficiently.
Ingredients:
- 5 g of beeswax
- 45 ml of olive oil
- 4 tablespoons of chopped arnica leaves and flowers
Preparation:
In a water bath, place the ingredients in a pan and simmer over low heat for a few minutes. Then extinguish the fire and leave the ingredients in the pan for a few hours to macerate. Before it cools, you should strain and store the liquid in containers with a lid. They should always be kept in a dry, dark and airy place.
