Constipation, also called intestinal constipation, is a common disorder, which has symptoms such as very hard stools, dry, painful, and difficult to get out. It can also generate abdominal pain and leave the belly swollen.
What causes constipation
In general, it is caused by the consumption of foods with few fibers and too much starch and by the lack of physical activity. Their treatment can be done with the intake of natural remedies, laxatives bought in pharmacies and a high fiber diet.
Treatment for constipation
In treating constipation it is recommended to eat foods high in fiber, such as:
- Whole grains: rice and pasta, linseed, oats and granola;
- Fruits: papaya, watermelon, grape, kiwi, acerola, mango, plum;
- Vegetables: pumpkin and chuchu,
- Vegetables: spinach, cabbage and broccoli
- Drink lots of water or natural fruit juices.
A great home remedy for constipation is orange juice with papaya. It should be taken every day at breakfast by those who suffer from constipation to soften the stool and lessen the discomfort they cause.
Although the use of laxatives may seem like a quick option, it is certainly not the most effective because you will not be able to change habits that cause constipation. In addition, it draws much water from the body and impairs the absorption of nutrients, which can lead to anemia and malnutrition.
