Nasal decongestant is a medication used to lessen the discomfort caused by the stuffy nose. It is usually indicated along with another medication that will act directly on the cause of the discomfort, but in many cases its use is indispensable.
Some doctors do not like to prescribe any nasal decongestant because people overuse them and end up becoming "addicted", using more and more and more to ensure the effect of the medicine.
Nasal decongestants are also indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, asthma, bronchitis, flu and colds.
