Sun syndrome causes people with neurological and degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, to worsen their symptoms in the late afternoon and at night, with no apparent cause.
During this period, there are more episodes of delusions, confusion and difficulty sleeping, especially if the patient is an elderly person.
To date, it is not known exactly what causes this aggravation, and it is recommended only to caregivers of these patients, through safety measures, a greater attention to them.
