The bath salts relax the mind and the body while leaving the skin softer, exfoliated and with a very pleasant smell, also providing a moment of well-being.
These bath salts can be purchased at pharmacies and drugstores or can also be prepared at home, being very easy to do, using coarse salt and essential oils.
1. Revitalizing bath salts
Marine salts add beneficial minerals to the bath, lavender and rosemary relieve physical and emotional tension, orange essential oil is moisturizing and peppermint oil has calming and analgesic properties.
Ingredients
- 225 g of coarse salt without iodine;
- 25 drops lavender essential oil;
- 10 drops rosemary essential oil;
- 10 drops of orange essential oil;
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil.
Method of preparation
Mix well all ingredients and store in a covered glass container. To prepare the bath with bath salts, fill a bath with warm water and add about 8 tablespoons of this mixture to the water. Get into the tub and enjoy to relax for at least 10 minutes. Then a moisturizer should be applied to the skin.
2. Terrestrial and marine bath salts
Terrestrial and marine salts are purifying and baking soda and borax leave the skin soft and smooth. In addition, Epsom salts, also known as magnesium sulfate, when dissolved in water, increase the density of the solution, which causes the body to float more easily, making it more relaxed.
Ingredients
- 60 g of Epsom salts;
- 110 g of sea salt;
- 60 g of sodium bicarbonate;
- 60 g of sodium borate.
Method of preparation
Mix the ingredients, fill the tub with hot water and add 4 to 8 tablespoons of this mixture of salts. Get into the tub and relax about 10 minutes. Afterwards, to improve the results a moisturizing cream can be applied.
3. Bath salts to relieve tension
A bath with these salts relieves tense and rigid muscles. Marjoram has sedative properties and relieves muscle aches and pains, and lavender relieves physical and emotional tension. By adding Epsom salts, extra relaxation of the muscles and nervous system is achieved.
Ingredients
- 125 g of Epsom salts;
- 125 g of sodium bicarbonate;
- 5 drops of marjoram essential oil;
- 5 drops lavender essential oil.
Method of preparation
Mix the ingredients and add them to the water just before entering the bath. Allow the bath salts to dissolve in the water and relax for 20 to 30 minutes.
4. Sensual bath salts
For a mixture of exotic, aphrodisiac, sensual bath salts and a long-lasting fragrance, just use sage-light, rose and ylang-ylang.
Ingredients
- 225 g of marine salts;
- 125 g of sodium bicarbonate;
- 30 drops of sandalwood essential oil;
- 10 drops of sage-clarifying essential oil;
- 2 drops of ylang ylang;
- 5 drops of rose essential oil.
Method of preparation
Mix the salt with the baking soda and then add the oils, mix well and store in a covered container. Dissolve 4 to 8 tablespoons of the mixture in a hot tub and relax for at least 10 minutes.
