Hair reconstruction is a process that helps to replenish hair keratin, which is the protein responsible for maintaining the structure of the hair and which is eliminated every day due to sun exposure, hair straightening or the use of chemicals in the hair, leaving the hair more porous and brittle.
Generally, capillary reconstruction should be done every 15 days, especially when using many chemical processes in the hair. In cases where not many products are used in the hair, reconstruction can be done only once a month, because the excess of keratin can make the hair strands very rigid and brittle.
Benefits of hair reconstruction
Capillary reconstruction is done to replenish the keratin of the hair, reducing its porosity and allowing the strands to be stronger and able to receive other treatments such as nutrition and capillary hydration. This is because when the hair is damaged, the pores present in the strands do not allow the nutrients that are part of these treatments to remain in the strands and guarantee the benefits.
Thus, the performance of capillary reconstruction is important to maintain the health of the hair, in addition to leaving it with more shine, strength and resistance to external agents that damage the hair.
How to do hair reconstruction at home
To do hair reconstruction at home, it is important to follow the following steps:
- Wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo, to remove all residues and open the scales of the hair;
- Press the hair with a soft towel, to remove excess water, without drying the hair completely;
- Divide the hair into several strands about 2 cm wide;
- Apply liquid keratin to each strand of hair, starting at the nape of the neck and ending at the front of the hair. It is important to avoid placing it at the root, leaving about 2 cm without product.
- Massage all hair and let the keratin act for about 10 minutes;
- Apply a mask of intense hydration, on each strand until it covers the keratin and then put on a plastic cap, leaving it to act for another 20 minutes;
- Wash your hair to remove excess product, apply a protective serum and dry your hair completely with the dryer.
Usually, this type of treatment leaves the hair looking stiff due to the use of liquid keratin and, therefore, to leave it silky and with more shine, it is recommended to do a hydration treatment 2 days after hair reconstruction.
