Parezyme is an oral antibacterial that uses tetracycline as an active principle to prevent the survival and reproduction of bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis.
Tetracycline capsules can be found in pharmacies under the names Parezyne Tetracycline or Tetrex. Other medications with a similar effect may be Ambra-sinto brand Medley or Tetramicin, brand EMS. Tetracycline has a generic presentation.
This medicine should be taken one hour before meals or two hours after. It is not advisable to lie down immediately after consumption to prevent gastrointestinal irritation.
Indications
Brucellosis, acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, gonorrhea, rectal infection, urethral infection, endocervical infection, venereal lymphogranuloma, shigellosis, periodontitis, syphilis.
Side effects
Increased skin pigmentation, rash on the skin, sensitivity to light, urticaria, candidiasis, diarrhea, nausea, gastralgia. It can impair skeletal muscle growth.
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk D, breastfeeding, allergy to tetracyclines, children under the age of 9 years.
How to use
- Adults: Each indication has a specific administration regarding quantity per day and maximum duration of treatment.
- Children : 25 to 50 mg per kg of body weight per day in divided doses every 6 hours.
