The main symptoms of septic arthritis are:
- Intense pain in the joint;
- Difficulty of movement;
- Edemas in the joint;
- Accumulation of liquids;
- Fever;
- Swelling;
- Burning sensation in the joint;
- Irritability;
- Redness around the joint;
Septic arthritis or infectious arthritis is the infection of a joint caused by bacteria or fungi.
The knee joints are usually the most affected but regardless of the affected joint the treatment should be done properly, reducing the risk of joint involvement.
The above symptoms can be decreased by immobilizing the joint through the use of splints. In the final part of the treatment, physiotherapy sessions are recommended so that the functions of the affected joint can be restored.
