Mode of use of phenylbutazone

The mode of use of phenylbutazone normally consists of the ingestion of 2 to 3 200 mg tablets during the day. However, the dose should be adapted to each case by a rheumatologist or orthopaedist and treatment should not exceed 1 week.

Side effects of phenylbutazone

The main side effects of phenylbutazone include allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, headache, confusion, hepatitis, pancreatitis or nephritis.

Contraindications of phenylbutazone

Phenylbutazone is contraindicated for children under 14 years of age and patients with peptic ulcer disease, blood dyscrasias, coagulation problems, heart failure, liver problems, severe renal insufficiency, severe high blood pressure, thyroid problems or hypersensitivity to pyrazole derivatives.
