How to use NuvaRing
The way NuvaRing should be used should be:
- Choose a good position to place the ring.
- Hold the NuvaRing between your thumb and forefinger, squeeze and insert into the vagina, gently pushing it in until you feel no discomfort.
- The ring should be withdrawn from the vagina 3 weeks later.
- NuvaRing can be removed by holding the index finger on the edge of the ring, or by grasping the ring between the index and middle fingers and pulling the ring out.
NuvaRing should only be re-inserted after 1 week of withdrawal from the vagina.
Side Effects of NuvaRing
Some side effects of NuvaRing may be belly pain, fungal infection in the vagina, headache, breast pains, painful menstrual cramps, acne, weight gain or increased appetite.
Contraindications of NuvaRing
NuvaRing is contraindicated in patients who have or have had blood clots in the veins of the legs, lungs or other organs, benign or malignant liver tumor, inflammation of the pancreas, migraine, diabetes with blood vessel damage, heart attack or stroke and if you have history of breast cancer or in the genitals.
It is also contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the formula.
