How to take
Impavido capsules should be swallowed whole, without breaking or chewing, along with a glass of water and with meals.
For adults over 45 kg, the recommended dose is 1 50 mg capsules taken 3 times daily for 28 days. For children between 30 and 44 kg, the recommended dose is 1 50 mg capsules taken twice daily for 28 days.
Side effects
Impavido side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, itching of the skin, or kidney problems.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated for pregnant women, patients with Sjögren's syndrome and for patients with allergy to miltefosine or to any other components of the formula.
Also, if you are breast-feeding, have kidney or liver problems, or if you are on other medicines, you should talk to your doctor before starting treatment.
