How to use Loniten
Oral use
Adults and children over 12 years
- Severe high blood pressure: Begin treatment with 5 mg of Loniten daily. The dose should be increased to 10 mg, 20 mg and then 40 mg (single or divided dose) only if needed. The maintenance dose of the treatment should be between 10 mg and 40 mg per day.
Children under 12 years old
- High blood pressure : Begin treatment with 0.2 mg per kg of body weight daily in a single dose. If the patient does not show improvement the dose may increase from 50 to 100%. The maintenance dose should be maintained between 0.25 and 1 mg per kg of body weight per day.
