Timentin is an antibacterial drug that has as active substance Ticarcillin combined with Clavulanic Acid.
This Injectable drug is indicated for the treatment of infections in the bones, respiratory infections and in the skin. The action of Timentin is to inhibit the synthesis of the cellular membrane of bacteria, which are weakened and eliminated from the body, thus improving the symptoms of infection.
Indications of Timentin
Bone infection; joint infection; intra-abdominal infection; pelvic infection in women; bacterial pneumonia; bacterial septicemia; skin and soft tissue infection; used in colorectal surgery; abdominal hysterectomy and high-risk cesarean section.

How to use Timentin
Injectable use
Adults
- Gynecological infection and other infections : Administer 50 mg of Timentin per kg of body weight every 4 to 6 hours.
- Surgical prophylaxis: Administer 3 g of Timentin one hour before the start of surgery (in cesarean, administer the drug after the umbilical cord is cut), then administer 3 g of Timentin every 4 hours (3 doses).
Children
- At 1 month of age up to 12 years of age: Administer 50 mg of Timentin per kg of body weight every 4 or 6 hours.
- From the age of 12 : Same dose of adults.
