How to take
The dose of desvenlafaxine should always be directed by a physician, however, in most cases, the starting dose is:
- 50 mg once daily, which can increase up to 200 mg per day.
To assess the effect of the dose used it is advised to consult the doctor every 7 days. The tablets should be swallowed whole with or without food.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects of this medication include insomnia, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, dry mouth, excessive sweating, decreased appetite, anxiety, nervousness, irritability, tremors, feeling of excessive heat, palpitations and decreased libido.
Who should not take
Desvenlafaxine should not be used in pregnant or breast feeding women, nor in patients receiving venlafaxine or monoamine oxidase inhibitors. In addition, it should also not be recommended for people with allergies to any of the components of the formula.
