The seriguela, also known as siriguela, ciriguela, ceriguela, ciroela or jacote, is a small fruit of yellow or reddish color, with thin and smooth bark, very appreciated in the region of Northeast of Brazil. It is a sweet, tasty fruit that is rich in carbohydrates, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamin C, vitamin B1 and in antioxidants.
The scientific name of this fruit is S pondias purpurea, with the highest fruit production occurring between December to March, and its consumption can be made as fresh fruit, juices and ice cream, for example.
