Repaglinide

Replaglinide is the active substance in an antidiabetic medicine known commercially as Novonorm.

This oral medication is indicated for the treatment of diabetes in individuals who are not dependent on insulin. The action of Repaglinide is the release of insulin from the cells of the pancreas, thus regulating the blood sugar concentration.

How to use Repaglinide

Oral use

Adults (Treated with other medicinal products)

• Starting with the administration of 1 or 2 mg before each meal, the dose may be adjusted at intervals of at least 1 week, using up to 4 mg before meals.

Adults (Not Treated With Another Medicine)

• Start with the administration of 0.5 mg before each meal, and the dose may be adjusted within one week, using up to 4 mg before meals.
