Epirubicin is a medicine known commercially as Nuovodox or Tecnomax.
This injectable drug is used to treat various types of cancer, decreasing the tumor and the likelihood of metastasis.
Indications of Epirubicin
Breast cancer; lung cancer; liver cancer; sarcoma (of soft parts); stomach cancer; bladder cancer.
Side effects of Epirubicin
Nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; lack of appetite; mucositis; amenorrhea; lethargy; heat waves; fever; allergies to the skin; peeling of the skin; loss of hair; infection; irritation at the injection site; conjunctivitis.
Contraindications of Epirubicin
Pregnancy risk D; women in the lactation phase; stomatitis; generalized infections; history of arrhythmia; individuals with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
How to use Epirubicin
Injectable Use
Adults
- Standard dose : Apply 60 to 120 mg Epirubicin intravenously, in single dose or divided in 2 or 3 days in succession. Repeat the procedure every 3 to 4 weeks if the patient exhibits drug-induced toxicity normalization.
- Breast Cancer : Apply 100 to 120 mg Epirubicin intravenously, in single dose or divided in 2 or 3 days successively.
