Smelly discharge deserves attention because it can indicate the presence of infections such as bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis, trichomoniasis or wounds in the cervix.
The foul smell of the discharge is similar to the smell of rotten fish and usually comes accompanied by itching, burning when urinating, yellow-green color and pain during sexual intercourse, being advisable to seek a gynecologist to identify the causes and treatment of the problem. Remedy for runny nose
The remedy for foul smelling discharge depends on its causes. Currently the existing treatment options are as follows:
- Oral tablets;
- Vaginal ovules;
- Ointments to apply directly to the vagina or penis.
It is important to note that the duration of treatment depends on the severity and type of discharge and the partner may also require treatment and the gynecologist will advise against intimate contact until the infection is cured.
Homemade treatment for foul smelling discharge
A good home treatment to reduce the discomfort caused by foul smelling discharge is the sitting bath with guava leaves.
Ingredients:
- 30g of guava leaves
- 1 liter of water
Method of preparation:
Boil 1 liter of water, turn off the fire after boiling, add the 30g guava leaves and close the pan for 3 to 5 minutes. Then you should strain to remove the leaves and put all the tea in a bowl.
When you are at a bearable temperature, sit down from the basin without clothing to take a shower, carefully washing the whole genital area until the water cools. Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times a day.
In addition to the sitting bath with guava leaves, some dietary changes such as consuming more fruits, vegetables, and natural yogurt may help to reduce foul-smelling discharge because they facilitate the rebalancing of the bacterial flora of the female genital organ.
If the stench persists after treatment with tea for a few days, it is important that a bacteriological examination of the discharge be performed by a gynecologist to identify the offending agent and treat the case accordingly.
