Tamarind is a tropical fruit typical of South Africa, with a sour taste and very caloric, which in Brazil is mainly consumed in the Northeast of the country.
Its pulp rich in vitamin A, fiber and minerals is excellent for treating constipation. In addition, tamarind is used to make sweets, juices and other beverages, such as liqueurs, and in many regions tamarind is also used to season meat or fish, for example.

Tamarind juice recipe with honey
This tamarind recipe is delicious and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 100 g of tamarind pulp,
- 1 large orange,
- 2 glasses of water,
- 1 teaspoon of honey
Method of preparation
Beat in the blender the orange juice with the tamarind squash, 2 cups of water and the honey.
To make the tamarind pulp one should peel 1 kg of tamarind, put in a bowl with 1 liter of water and leave to soak overnight. The next day, put everything in a pan and cook for 20 minutes or until the pulp is very soft, stirring from time to time.
