Tequin is a medicine whose active substance is Gatifloxacin.
This oral and injectable drug is an antibacterial indicated for infections such as bronchitis and urinary tract infection. Tequin has a good absorption in the organism causing regression of the symptoms of the bacterial infection shortly after its administration.
Indications of Tequin
Bacterial bronchitis; urethral gonorrhea; urinary infection; pneumonia; sinusitis; infections.
Tequin Side Effects
Diarrhea; nausea; Headache; dizziness; vaginitis; dizziness; pain in the abdomen; vomiting; digestion problems; changes in taste; insomnia.
Contraindications of Tequin
Pregnancy Risk C; women and the lactation phase; under 18 years (potential risk of joint disease); tendonitis or tendon rupture (may aggravate); Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.
How to use Tequin
Oral use
Adults
- Urinary infection (uncomplicated): Administer 200 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 3 days.
- Urinary infection (complicated): Administer 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 7 to 10 days.
- Bacterial Bronchitis or Pyelonephritis : Administer 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 7 to 10 days.
- Pneumonia: Administer 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 7 to 14 days.
- Acute sinusitis : Administer 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 10 days.
- Endocervical and urethral gonorrhea (in women) and urethral gonorrhea (in men): Administer 400 mg of Tequin as a single dose. I
- Skin and attachment infections (uncomplicated ): Administer 200 or 400 mg of Tequin in a single daily dose for 3 days.
Injectable Use
Adults
- Urinary infection (uncomplicated): Apply 200 mg of Tequin intravenously every 24 hours for 3 days.
- Urinary infection (complicated): Apply 400 mg every 24 hours for 7 to 10 days.
- Bacterial Bronchitis or Pyelonephritis : Apply 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 7 to 10 days.
- Pneumonia: Apply 400 mg of Tequin every 24 hours for 7 to 14 days.
