Putting a bag with hot water on the neck is a good tip to get your neck muscles to relax. Heat promotes vasodilation and improves blood circulation on the spot. Some stretches to decrease neck pain are:
- Try to get the chin closer to the chest for 15 seconds,
- Throw your head back as far as you can and keep it back for 15 seconds,
- Try to rest the head on the right shoulder and then on the left shoulder, also remaining in the position for 15 seconds.
These exercises help to stretch all the muscles of the region, reducing muscle tension, which, consequently, will decrease the discomfort.
