Miantrex CS is an anti-neoplastic and anti-rheumatic drug with active substance Methotrexate.
This injectable oral medication is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and leukemia. Its effect has action on the multiplication of cells and helps metabolize folic acid.
Indications of Miantrex CS (For what it is)
Severe rheumatoid arthritis; acute lymphocytic leukemia; Burkitt's lymphoma; Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; lymphosarcoma; fungal mycosis; severe psoriasis; trophoblastic tumor.
Side effects of Miantrex CS
Inflammation in the mouth; diarrhea; nausea; vomiting; tubular necrosis; anemia; urticaria.
Contraindications of Miantrex CS
Pregnancy risk X; women in the lactation phase; renal insufficiency.
How to use Miantrex CS (Dosage)
Oral use
Adults
- Trophoblastic tumor: 15 to 30 mg per day for 5 days. Repeat the dose after 1 or more weeks according to the patient's clinical response.
- Acute lymphocytic leukemia : 3.3 mg per square meter of body surface per day, for 4 to 6 weeks or until remission of symptoms.
- Burkitt's lymphoma: 10-25 mg per day for 4 to 8 days. Rest one week and repeat the dose.
- Lymphosarcoma: 0.625 to 2.5 mg per kg of body weight per day.
- Fungal mycosis: 2.5 to 10 mg per day.
- Severe psoriasis : 10 to 25 mg once weekly.
