How to Use Mitotane
Oral use
Adults
- Kidney cancer (inoperable): Start treatment with 1 to 6 g daily, divided into 3 or 4 doses. Increase to 9 to 10 g per day if there is good clinical response. If severe adverse reactions occur, reduce the dose to the maximum tolerated dose. The maximum daily dose indicated is 2 to 16 g. If no clinical benefit is observed after 3 months of treatment at the maximum dose indicated, it is possible that the patient will not benefit from continued treatment.
- Cushing's syndrome : Start treatment with 1 to 12 g daily in divided doses. The maintenance dose is between 500 mg (2 times per week) and 2 g per day for 3 months.
