Sumatriptan is a medicine known commercially as Imigran.
This medication is indicated to decrease migraine symptoms such as headache and malaise. Sumatriptan is used orally, nasally or injected, its action is effective because it causes the decompression of the cerebral blood vessels, decreasing the sensation of pain.

Dizziness; vertigo; irritation at the injection site; tingling; feeling hot or cold; burning sensation; blush; feeling of weakness; somnolence; nausea; vomiting; tachycardia; palpitation; Low pressure.
Contraindications of Sumatriptan
Pregnancy risk C; women in the lactation phase; liver problems; high pressure; predisposition to heart problems; individuals under 18 years of age; Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.
How to use Sumatriptan
Oral use
- Administer 25 to 100 mg Sumatriptan in a single daily dose.
Nasal Use
- Administer 10 mg (1 spray) of Sumatriptan as a single dose into one nostril. If the symptoms return, apply another 10 mg dose of the medicine.
Injectable Use
- Apply 6 mg Sumatriptan in a single daily dose to the outside of the arm or thigh.
