Aztreonam is a bactericidal known commercially as Azactam.
This injectable drug is effective in treating infections in general caused by bacteria such as cystitis and bronchitis. The drug works by altering the mechanism of action of the bacteria by eliminating it from the body and providing relief of symptoms.
Aztreonam Indications
Urinary infections (cystitis and pyelonephritis); Infection of the skin and soft tissues (sores, ulcers, burns); gynecological infection (endometritis, pelvic cellulitis); Respiratory infection (pneumonia, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis).
Side effects of Aztreonam
Diarrhea; nausea; vomiting; inflammation in the vein.
Contraindications of Aztreonam
Pregnancy risk B; women in the lactation phase; hypersensitive to any component of the formula.
How to use Aztreonam
Injectable use
Adults
Aztreonam (powder) 0.5 g- Intramuscular use
- Apply the injection of Aztreonam on the buttocks (upper outer part).
Aztreonam (powder) 0.5 g - Intravenous use
- Apply Aztreonam injection intravenously, the application should last 3 to 5 minutes.
