The symptoms of viral pharyngitis arise due to infection and inflammation of the throat caused by a virus. The most common symptoms may be:
- Sore throat;
- Fever;
- General malaise with strong muscle pains;
- Difficulty in swallowing;
- Very red throat;
- Languages.
Sometimes associated with viral pharyngitis, other symptoms such as earache, headache and vomiting may occur.
Treatment of viral pharyngitis
The treatment of viral pharyngitis consists of taking anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, to reduce inflammation and pain. Paracetamol can be taken for fever.
Absolute rest and good hydration is very important for the rapid treatment of pharyngitis.
