Beet syrup is a great home remedy to calm cough due to the anti-inflammatory properties that the beet possesses. However, this syrup is contraindicated for diabetics because it is too sweet and can increase blood glucose.
The consumption of cooked beets raw or in the form of juices or vitamins also helps to fight cough and so it is advisable to increase their consumption as long as the symptom persists. Know other benefits of beet.
