How to use Lamitor
Adults and children over 12 years
- Patient not taking Valproate Sodium : For the first 2 weeks, 50 mg once daily should be given within the next 2 weeks. 100 mg daily should be given in 2 divided doses. From the fifth week onwards the doses should be between 200 and 400 mg, divided into 2 doses.
- Patient taking Valproate Sodium: During the first 2 weeks, 25 mg should be given on alternate days in the next 2 weeks 25 mg per day should be given. From the fifth week onwards the doses should remain between 100 and 200 mg, divided into 2 doses.
