Salonpas is a medication indicated to alleviate pain and inflammation in situations of muscle fatigue, muscular and lumbar pains, stiffness in shoulders, bruises, bumps, sprains, sprains, torticollis, back pain, neuralgia and joint pains.
This remedy is available in spray, gel or plaster and can be purchased at pharmacies for a price of about 3 to 29 reais depending on the dosage form and the size of the package.
How to use
How to use depends on the pharmaceutical form:
1. Spray
The affected region should be washed and dried, vigorously shaken the product and applied at a distance of about 10 cm from the skin, about 3 to 4 times a day.
Do not apply in the same place for more than 3 seconds and at the time of use, avoid inhalation. It is also recommended to protect the eyes during use.
2. Plaster
Before using the adhesive, you should wash and dry the affected area, remove the plastic film and apply the patch to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day, avoiding to leave the plaster placed more than 8 hours.
3. Gel
The gel should also be applied after washing and drying the affected area 3 to 4 times a day, avoiding to massage the region or apply any type of occlusive material.
Who should not use
Salonpas should not be used by people who are hypersensitive to any of the components present in the formula, by pregnant or nursing women.
Also, avoid using the product in cuts or open wounds.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects that can occur with the use of Salonpas are local irritation, itching, redness, rash, onset of blisters, flaking, blemishes, local reactions and eczema.
