This pill contains a combination of the hormones drospirenone and ethinylestradiol and is produced by Bayer Laboratories and can be bought in pharmacies in cartons of 24 tablets.

The price of Yaz is approximately 50 reais and this pill is not included in SUS's free contraceptive plan.
What is it for
The use of the Yaz pill is indicated for:
- Avoid pregnancy;
- Improve PMS symptoms like fluid retention, increased abdomen volume, swelling or weight gain;
- Treat acne cases;
- Reduce the risk of anemia by reducing menstruation bleeding;
- Decrease the pain caused by menstrual cramps;
In addition, Yaz may also help reduce the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer.
How to use
Each carton of Yaz contains 24 tablets that should be taken every day at the same time.
It is recommended to start by taking the tablet number 1 under the word "Home", ingesting the remaining tablets in the direction of the arrows until you take 24 tablets for a month.
After you have finished your 24 tablets, you should stay 4 days without taking any tablets to allow menstruation to bleed.
What to do if you forget to take
When forgetfulness is less than 12 hours you should take the forgotten tablet and the rest at the usual time, even if you have to take 2 tablets on the same day. In these cases, the pill's contraceptive effect is maintained.
When the forgetfulness is greater than 12 hours the contraceptive effect of the pill is diminished. Here's what to do in this case.
Side effects
The main side effects that may occur with the use of Yaz include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight gain or loss, headache, depression, sudden mood changes, pain or hypertrophy of the breasts, fluid retention, decrease or increased libido, rash, urticaria, vaginal or mammary secretion.
Contraindications of Yaz
Yaz should not be used by women who are hypersensitive to any component of the formula, a history of severe liver or kidney disease, suspected or diagnosed pregnancy, heart problems, and the presence of malignant tumors in the uterus or breast that are dependent on sex hormones.
