What is it for
This medicine helps treat diarrhea and relieve stomach pain, caused by poor digestion or heartburn, for example. In addition, it may also be used in the treatment of elimination of Helicobacter pylori bacteria from the stomach.
How to take
The recommended dose varies according to the form of presentation and the age of the person:

In the form of tablets, peptozil should only be used by adults and it is recommended to take 2 tablets. This dose may be repeated every 30 minutes or 1 hour if there is no improvement in symptoms, up to a maximum of 16 tablets per day.
In the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in adults, it is recommended to take 30 mL of syrup or 2 tablets 4 times a day for 10 to 14 days, as directed by your doctor.
Main side effects
The most common side effects include constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, as well as darkening of the tongue and stool.
Who should not take
Peptozil should not be used by children under 3 years of age, nor by children or adolescents who have had an influenza or chicken pox infection. It should also not be used by people with allergy to monobasic bismuth salicylate or any other component of the formula.
