How to use Mefloquine
Oral use
Adults
- Prevention of malaria: Administer 250 mg of Mefloquine once a week. Start treatment 1 or 2 weeks before going to any risk region and continue taking the drug 4 weeks after returning.
- Treatment of malaria: Administer 1, 250 mg of Mefloquine in a single dose.
Children (Prevention of malaria)
- 15 to 19 kg : Administer 62.5 mg of Mefloquine.
- 20 to 30 kg; Administer 125 mg of Mefloquine.
- 31 to 45 kg: administer 187.5 mg of Mefloquine.
- Over 45 kg: Same dose of Mefloquine adults.
