Cefixime is a medicine known commercially as Cefnax.
This medication is an oral antibacterial that has very slow absorption but is effective in mild infections of tonsillitis and bronchitis.
Indications of Cefixime
Tonsillitis; bronchitis; pharyngitis; uncomplicated urethral gonorrhea; uncomplicated endocervical gonorrhea; urinary infection; otitis media.
Side Effects of Cefixime
Stomach ache; diarrhea; nausea; indigestion; intestinal gas.
Contraindications of Cefixime
Pregnancy risk B; women in the lactation phase; Individuals Hypersensitive to penicillin.
How to use Cefixime
Oral use
Adults
- Administer 400 mg per day or 200 mg every 12 hours.
In the case of urethral or cervical gonorrhea (uncomplicated) administer 400 mg as a single dose.
