Migraine Stress Syndrome or Stress Syndrome Myositis is a disease that causes chronic pain due to muscle tension caused by repressed emotional and psychological stress.
In Mioneural Tension Syndrome, unconscious emotional problems such as anger, fear, resentment or anxiety create tension in the autonomic nervous system that inhibits blood flow to muscles, nerves and connective tissue, causing pain.
Pain becomes a physical consequence to the emotional problems that can be bad memories that the individual tends to repress.
Symptoms of Migraine Stress Syndrome
The most common symptoms of MTS are:
- Pain;
- Numbness;

The pain can be medium to severe in intensity and often moves from one place of the body to another. Some people feel relief from temporary symptoms after a vacation which is indicative of myositis stress syndrome.
Treatment of Migraine Stress Syndrome
The treatment of MTS has two components: psychological and physical.
In psychological treatment, patients are advised to use various techniques to identify and minimize / eliminate the emotional problems that are causing the symptoms of MTS:
- Daily meditation: helps the individual identify the negative thoughts and feelings that influence his life and try to eliminate them;
- Daily writing of emotions felt during the day;
- Establish daily goals and commitments to eliminate anxiety and fear;
- Learn to think positively about challenges.
Treatment for the physical symptoms of Myositis Stress Syndrome such as pain, stiffness, numbness or fatigue, involves taking analgesics, physical therapy or massage.
