Lescol is a medicine whose active substance is fluvastatin. It is a very effective oral medication in the treatment of high cholesterol.
Lescol acts by blocking the action of an enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cholesterol, inhibiting the production of this fat by the liver.

How to use Lescol
Oral use
Adults
- Administer 20 mg a day in a single dose. The maximum dose taken per day is 80 mg.
Individuals with mild increase in cholesterol
- Administer 10 mg a day in a single dose.
The lescol must be swallowed without chewing, with a glass of water. This medicine should be used in the evening just after dinner.
