A great home remedy for treating tired feet and relieving the pain of the end of the day is to do a self-massage using almond oil, after making a good foot scale to leave the muscles relaxed.
1. How to do the foot scissor
Doing the relaxing foot scrub is fairly easy, just that:
- Put a little warm water in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of cooking salt;
- Let your feet soak for 15 to 20 minutes;
- Dry your feet well and sprinkle some almond oil on your hands, spreading well on each foot.
Then, to enhance the relaxing effect of foot scaling a massage can be done. If you do not have someone who can do the massage, you can also do a self-massage as explained below.
2. How to massage your feet
To do the massage you should sit cross-legged, so you can apply a small amount of almond oil to the feet. Enough to slip your hands. Here are the steps to follow:
- Press with your fingertips on the sole of the foot, starting from the sole of the feet to the heel. Then repeat the movement to the sole of the foot again, and repeat these movements for 1 minute;
- Push the big toe against the sole of the foot, applying a slight pressure, sliding from the heel to the toes. Repeat as necessary until all regions of the sole are pressed;
- Hold a toe with your hand and press lightly, turning your hand until you massage all parts of each finger;
- Hold all toes and bend forward, holding position for 30 seconds. Then fold your fingers back and hold for another 30 seconds.
A good tip to decrease swelling in your feet during the day is to lie down and place a very high cushion under your feet, leaving them higher whenever you are lying down or lying on the bed or sofa. This position will help drain excess fluid, reducing swelling and leaving your legs lighter.
