Kelo cote is a transparent gel, which has polysiloxanes and silicon dioxide in it, which act to maintain the hydric balance of the skin, thus facilitating the regeneration of scars, which can be caused by surgeries, burns or other injuries.
Thus, Kelo cote is a product that prevents and reduces the formation of hypertrophic and keloid scars, also relieving the itching and discomfort that are usually associated with the healing process. See other treatments that help reduce keloid.
Kelo cote is still available in spray or gel with sun protection factor 30, and these products can be obtained in a pharmacy for a price of about 150 to 200 reais.
What is it for
Kelo cote gel can be used on all scars, however, it is important that the wound that gave rise to it, is already completely closed. In addition, this gel can still be used after surgery, but only after removal of the stitches.
This product can also be used as a preventive in the formation of keloids, which can occur in surgeries, injuries or burns.
How it works
This healing gel forms a thin film, which is permeable to gases, flexible and waterproof, which binds with the skin, forming a protective barrier, preventing contact with chemicals, microorganisms and other substances and maintaining the region's hydration .
Thus, with all these conditions, an optimal environment is created for the scar to mature, normalizing the cycles of collagen synthesis and improving the appearance of the scar.
How to use
Kelo cote can be safely used in children and adults, even those with sensitive skin.
Before applying the product, clean the area to be treated with water and neutral soap and dry the skin well. The amount of the product should be sufficient to apply a thin layer over the whole region to be treated, avoiding to massage the place, to wear clothes or to move on objects for about 4 to 5 minutes, which is the time that the gel takes to dry.
The application of the product should be done twice a day for at least 2 months, however, if the treatment lasts longer, it can bring more benefits.
What care to have
Kelo cote is a gel that should not be used on open or recent wounds, it should not be applied to the mucous membranes, such as nose, mouth or eyes, for example, and should not be used if an antibiotic has been used topic or other product on that same skin region.
Although rare, redness, pain or irritation at the application site may occur in some cases, and in such cases the product should be discontinued and the doctor consulted.
