The baby should go to the pediatrician for the first time up to 5 days after birth, and the second consultation should take place up to 15 days after the baby is born for the pediatrician to evaluate and monitor the weight gain, breastfeeding, growth and development of the baby and the vaccination schedule.
The following baby consultations in the pediatrician should be done as follows:
- 1 consultation when the baby is 1 month old;
- 1 consultation per month from 2 to 6 months of age;
- 1 consultation at 8 months of age, at 10 months and then when the baby turns 1 year;
- 1 consultation every 3 months from 1 to 2 years of age;
- 1 consultation every 6 months from 2 to 6 years of age;
- 1 consultation per year from 6 to 18 years of age.
It is important for parents to note all doubts between the consultation intervals such as questions about breastfeeding, body hygiene, vaccines, cramps, feces, dentition, amount of clothing or diseases, for example to be informed and adopt the necessary care for the health of the drink.

In addition to regular visits to the pediatrician, it is important to take the baby to the pediatrician in the presence of symptoms such as:
- High fever, above 38ºC that does not fall with medication or that rises again after a few hours;
- Rapid breathing, shortness of breath or wheezing;
- Vomiting after every meal, refusal to eat or vomit that lasts more than 2 days;

- More than 3 diarrhea per day;
- Easy crying and irritation for no apparent reason;
- Tiredness, drowsiness and lack of will to play;

In the presence of these symptoms it is important to take the baby to the pediatrician because he may be having an infection, such as respiratory, throat or urinary infection, for example, or dehydration and in these cases it is important to be treated as soon as possible.
In case of vomiting or diarrhea with blood, intense fall or crying that does not pass, for example, it is recommended to take the baby immediately to the emergency room, as these situations are urgent and require immediate treatment.
