This injectable medicine works by altering the mechanisms of the bacteria that end up weakened and eliminated from the body, quickly decreasing the symptoms of the infection.
Indications of Polymyxin B
Infection of the skin; otitis; conjunctivitis; vaginitis; meningitis; urinary infection.
Side Effects of Polymyxin B
Local irritation; weakness; somnolence; tingling in the hands and feet; blurred vision; respiratory paralysis; paresthesia; pain at the injection site; fever; headache; rigid neck; urticaria.
Contraindications for Polymyxin B
Pregnant or lactating women; history of allergic reaction to polymyxins.
How to use
Injectable Use
Adults and children
- Inject 15,000 to 20,000 UL of Polymyxin B intravenously daily. The dose can be divided into 2 doses every 12 hours.
