Polymyxin B

Polymyxin B is an antibiotic used to treat otitis, vaginitis and conjunctivitis.

This injectable medicine works by altering the mechanisms of the bacteria that end up weakened and eliminated from the body, quickly decreasing the symptoms of the infection.

Indications of Polymyxin B

Infection of the skin; otitis; conjunctivitis; vaginitis; meningitis; urinary infection.

Side Effects of Polymyxin B

Local irritation; weakness; somnolence; tingling in the hands and feet; blurred vision; respiratory paralysis; paresthesia; pain at the injection site; fever; headache; rigid neck; urticaria.

Contraindications for Polymyxin B

Pregnant or lactating women; history of allergic reaction to polymyxins.

How to use

Injectable Use

Adults and children

• Inject 15,000 to 20,000 UL of Polymyxin B intravenously daily. The dose can be divided into 2 doses every 12 hours.
