Researchers have come to the conclusion that fasting regularly is good for your health, and that not eating anything for just 1 or 2 days a week, eating normally on other days, has health benefits.
According to the researchers, this type of fasting helps to lose weight, decreases the risk of diabetes, Alzheimer's, heart disease, dementia, protects against various types of cancer and improves the individual's quality of life.
On fasting days you can drink water and eat some vegetables, but nothing more, and on the days that follow you can eat everything, but in moderation, avoiding sweets, fats and processed foods, to get the results expected.
Eating a large amount of food day after day, in addition to putting on weight, causes a type of inflammation in the body that generates various diseases and adopting this type of diet can be very beneficial for health, especially for the brain.
The researchers believe that this dietary restriction favors the entire functioning of the organism as it makes it more sensitive to hormonal changes, being very beneficial for the control of insulin and other chemical reactions. However, they caution that more scientific research must be carried out to prove the benefits of this type of fasting for periods in excess of 6 consecutive months.
