Litocit is a medicine for oral use that has as active principle potassium citrate. It acts by promoting the alkalinization of the urine avoiding the formation of stones.
Indications
Kidney stones of calcium salts or uric acid.
Side effects
Abdominal discomfort; vomiting; diarrhea; reduction of bowel movements; nausea.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and breastfeeding; chronic renal failure; uncontrollable diabetes mellitus; acute dehydration; individuals who are not in good physical condition; adrenal insufficiency; large loss of tissues; administration with other medicines; diuretic; passage of the tablet through the intestinal tract; delay of gastric emptying; esophageal compression; bowel obstruction; anticholinergic medication; peptic ulcer; active infection in the urinary tract.
How to use
Adults : Oral use 150 mg / day for or 30 minutes after meals.
Elderly: Not recommended.
