Dropropizine is the substance found in the oral medication known as Vibral, an antitussive that acts on the respiratory tract.
This medicine can also be found in pharmacies under the name Ecos, Eritós or Tussiflex-D.
Indications
Non-productive cough
Side effects
Nausea; somnolence; pressure drop when lifting.
Contraindications
First trimester pregnancy; breast-feeding; asthma; respiratory failure; do not use when coughing is necessary for the elimination of secretions or foreign bodies; drop in blood pressure.
How to use
Adults and children over 12 years
- 30 mg, 3 or 4 times daily.
Children from 2 to 12 years old
- 0.45 mg per kg body weight, 4 times per day.
